DEAR FRIENDS,

If you are reading this letter it means that we want to invite you to nominate a group of young people to participate in an international YOUTH EXCHANGE that we hope to organize in Finland, in the lovely youth centre Hyvarila (http://www.hyvarila.fi ) between 11-18 of March 2011.
The purpose and aim of the suggested aim is tightly connected with the tradition of sending postcards. This habit is being cultivated by many people nowadays and this project has been created to facilitate intercultural postcard exchanging all over Europe and even all over the world.  We would like to provide young people with the opportunity to meet in the non-formal learning environment and experience the unique opportunity to learn about their countries on the basis of postcards images.
First of all, we would like young people to take a look at their own and other participants’ countries from the perspective of various postcards. Ideally we would like to collect postcards from different decades and different cities and by comparing them to learn whether anything happened or changed in the way of presenting the most important cities, landscapes and other places of interest.
Furthermore, we would like that young people have a chance by working together to get to the common goal of the exchange which will be a set of multinational (international) postcards made in the form of  a mosaic of postcards from different countries. Each participant will make such a postcards and in the end of the week there will be an exhibition of the postcards organized and we will make a catalogue of international postcards created during the exchange.
Additionally, as an element of the exchange each participant will have a chance to design a European stamp to put on the postcard. In this way we would like our participants to show their creativity and at the same time show what are their ideas for a European stamp.

The suggested number of participants from each country is 5 (including the group leader) and the age limit 15-25 (in special cases 13-30).
